Music Teacher Skills
- Ability to teach one or more of the following: guitar, vocals, piano, drums, bass
- 2 years’ experience teaching and/or performing music professionally
- Knowledge of music theory
- Computer knowledge needed
Music Teacher Requirements
- Ability to teach a wide range of student ages and skill levels
- Strong organizational skills
- Enthusiastic, flexible, patient, and positive demeanor
- Must pass background screening prior to training
- Available teaching shifts are between: Monday to Thursday: 2pm to 8:30pm, and Saturdays 10am to 1pm
- Ensure students are learning the fundamentals of music, not just songs, using the School of RockMethodTM
- Communicate with parents on the progress of students by creating quality lesson notes and assignments in the School of Rock Method App for at-home practice
About Music Teacher & School of Rock
Ideal candidate is a working musician who also has formal music school training. Our instructors create a safe, yet cool, environment for students to achieve musical proficiency, ensuring each School of Rock student has an exceptional musical journey. Our students are in bands. We don’t teach music to put on shows, we put on shows to teach music.
We provide numerous tools making teaching easy and informative. We offer paid training for all teachers. We provide method books and access to our online apps to quickly get students rocking.
School of Rock offers lessons on 5 core instruments: keys, vocals, guitar, bass, and drums. Multi-instrumentalists are a huge plus! We also need musicians to become show directors to lead our rock groups.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 4 – 25 per week
