The Music Teacher has rock & roll at their heart and soul, and both “lives to play” and “plays to live!” School of Rock (SoR) is a performance-based, interactive music school enrich the lives of our students while building the world’s most passionate community of performers and musicians.
At School of Rock Summer Creek, we teach five core music areas including piano (keys), vocals, guitar, bass, and drums. We love candidates that have broader musical talent and encourage their passion and creativity into our music programs.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop thoughtful individualized student lesson plans and document progress for parents and students
- Deliver highest quality music education through individual lessons and supporting group rehearsals
- Teach the fundamentals of music (follow patented School of Rock method)
- Support the development and execution of each season showcase
- Assist the General Manager & Music Director with additional tasks as required
School Operations:
- Support Music Director with group rehearsals
- Assist with general school maintenance (including opening & closing activities)
- Support lesson rescheduling when cancellations occur
School Marketing:
- Maintain excellent relationships with existing students and parents
- Support tours for prospective students and parents
Customer Focus:
- Communicate student progress regularly with parents after each lesson
- Consistently interact with parents and students and be visible and accessible in the school
- Adhere to the SoR Code of Conduct, safety policies, and Monitoring and Supervision policy
Skill Requirements:
- Six years or more experience teaching and/or performing music professionally
- Knowledge of music theory and curriculum design
- Excellent ability to deal with a diverse set of customers and work well under pressure
- Welcoming, enthusiastic, flexible, patient, and overall positive attitude is essential
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail
