DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
o Responsible for processing Student Eligibility applications and completing Verification in accordance with USDA regulations.
o Monitors student lunch accounts and notifies the household of negative balances through phone calls and letters.
o Reviews the meal service production records daily, reporting any discrepancies to supervisor.
o Operates Point of Service during lunch period, ensuring that each student has selected a reimbursable meal.
o Maintains the appropriate documentation for students requesting Special Dietary Accommodations, in accordance with USDA protocol.
o Operates the After School Snack Program, distributing reimbursable snacks and maintaining the appropriate documentation (if a snack program is offered in the school).
o Participates in the Local School Wellness Policy, including collecting and maintaining documentation, assessing completion of policy goals, publicizing updates, and other related activities as needed.
o Daily recording of meal counts and revenue.
o Operates the Child Nutrition Program in compliance with all local, state, and federal laws.
o Attends TDA Education Service Center Child Nutrition trainings as required.
o Provides clerical support to one or more supervisors.
o Maintains general office and departmental files, following up on misplaced, misdirected, or misfiled materials.
o Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
o Makes sure that teachers take school attendance (snap shot) at Skyward as it is described in SST manual.
o Reviews the campus school attendance summary report and makes corrections as needed.
o Enters “late in and early out” student’s data to school attendance in Skyward.
o Enters excuse information to the Skyward after receiving the required papers.
o Documents excuse papers in a separated binder for audit purposes.
o Documents reconciliation papers in a separated binder for audit purposes.
o Notifies parents when a student returns from an absence without an excuse or has been absent for three or more days.
o Calls parent of absent students each day.
o Communicates with the Special Education and ESL Department Chairs concerning the attendance of students receiving special education services.
o Keeps enrolling and withdrawing student’s logs on the Skyward.
o Verifies that computer records are accurate.
o Mails warning notice (Truancy letter) to the parent if the students is absent without excuse from the school for three (3) days or parts of days in a four week period.
o Determines students with excessive absences on regular basis.
o Submits the attendance referral to the campus administrator for review and completion before filing court case.
o Files court case against the student’s parent, the student, or both, if a student is absent without an excuse for 10 days or parts of days in a sixth month period.
o Participates in the Local School Wellness Policy, including collecting and maintaining documentation, assessing completion of policy goals, publicizing updates, and other related activities as needed.
o Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
o Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral forms with all levels of management, both internal and external to the district.
o Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships both internal and external to the district.
o Ability to organize special programs for the campus.
o Ability to use computer including software, database used by the district, spreadsheet and word processing software, calculator, copy machine and telephone.
o Ability to analyze data
o Ability to use effective interview techniques, effective public speaking skills, and problem-solving skills
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
o Light Work: may require the occasional light lifting.
o Nights and weekend activities will be occasionally required.
o Position is in office setting and may involve prolonged work at a desk in one location.
o Moderate travel is required.
