School of the Holy Child, an all-girls, Catholic, independent school in Westchester County, NY, seeks a full-time leave-replacement upper school Math teacher. The position focuses on teaching one section of AB Calculus, one section of BC Calculus, two sections of Calculus 1, and one section of Statistics and Probability. The position begins on August 25th and is expected to end between October 15th and November 1st. .
The successful candidate must also possess strong instructional, organizational, and communication skills; ideally, they should have a minimum of one year of classroom teaching experience teaching calculus or a similar AP STEM course and be highly motivated and passionate about making a difference in students’ lives. Ideal candidates are dedicated educators who value interdisciplinary teaching and creative learning experiences. A Holy Child teacher will have the resources of a supportive department and an established curriculum. Holy Child values hands-on, collaborative learning and works to engage the students in a Math curriculum that inspires a love for learning and interest in STEM based fields.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Teach 4 sections of Calculus: 1 AB Calculus, 1 BC Calculus and 2 sections of Calculus 1, and 1 section of Statistics and Probability.
- Execute sub-plans including units on review of essential prerequisite material, limits and continuity, introduction to derivatives, and applications of derivatives.
- Prepare mid-semester 1 report cards. Work with individual and small groups of students as needed.
- Collaborate with the math department and STEM colleagues to share resources and evaluate effective methods of teaching; participate in regular meetings with the Department Chair.
- Work with the Learning Center to support students with learning differences.
- Show a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion work.
- Communicate professionally and compassionately with every member of the community: students, families, and colleagues alike.
- Attend and participate in parent conferences and school events.
- Communicate regularly and effectively with Division Deans and the Academic Dean about student progress.
- Participate in grade-level and school-wide meetings as needed.
- Engage with new technologies and methodologies for teaching and assessing.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, or similar STEM field, or Education required; Master’s degree in Education preferred.
- At least 1 year Calculus, STEM, or AP STEM teaching experience is preferred; experience teaching similar math content or co-teaching is required.
- Experience with high school students is preferred.
- Passionate and knowledgeable about progressive education, problem-based teaching and learning and differentiation.
- Strong planning and organizational skills.
- A good sense of humor and collegial spirit.
