What are the responsibilities and job description for the Middle School Swim Assistant Coach position at School of the Holy Child?
School of the Holy Child is a 5-12 all-girls, Catholic, independent school in Westchester County, NY whose mission it is to develop “women of conscience and action.” Accomplished and dedicated faculty members foster the spiritual development, individual talents and interests of each student. This is realized through rigorous and comprehensive academic, arts, athletics, service and global programs.
The Holy Child Athletic Department is looking to add a Middle School Swim Assistant Coach to our program. Proven success as a player or coach is strongly encouraged for applicants. A positive attitude and coaching approach and good sense of humor are a must. This is a coaching-only, competitively paid, part-time position.
Duties of the Middle School Volleyball Head Coach include, but are not limited to:
- Implement instruction and training programs to prepare student-athletes for competition; this will include plans for experienced and brand-new players grades 6-8.
- Collaborate with coaching staff to plan, organize and run daily practices.
- Attend any/all practices and competitions at the direction of the Director of Athletics.
- Supervise student-athletes during all team activities; travel with the team(s) to and from away games.
- Communicate effectively with parents and students via Holy Child email account.
- The swim season starts December 2 and runs through February 19.
- Middle School Athletics are held on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Practice time is 6:00am - 7:15am.
- Games will be played Monday through Wednesday with the possibility of a few games being played on Thursdays.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Experience coaching at any level of volleyball is required.
- Past player experience preferred.
