Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Interventionist to join our educational team. The Interventionist will play a crucial role in supporting a student’s academic and social-emotional development, and physical needs. This position requires a strong understanding of childhood development, and the ability to work collaboratively with educators, parents, and community resources. The ideal candidate will have experience in an educational setting, using augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices, and supporting the physical needs of a child to allow them access to social and academic interactions. Candidates must have the maturity, enthusiasm, and commitment needed to work with children 5 days a week. Maintaining professional communication skills.
Duties
- Work collaboratively with classroom teacher to support student inclusion.
- Work collaboratively with the school nurse to help support the student's medical needs.
- Build trusting relationships with the child and their support team.
- Engage in play and activities with the student and their peers.
- Utilize an AAC to help the student communicate with their peers.
- Support students with disabilities by adapting materials and methods to meet diverse learning needs.
- Engage with guardians to provide updates on the student.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills in curriculum development and academic advising.
Requirements
- Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
- Further education in Early Childhood Education or Special Education preferred.
- Pediatric CPR & First Aid Certified
- Experience working in preschool or early education classroom settings.
- Ability to work collaboratively with individuals from diverse backgrounds, including those with disabilities.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Commitment to fostering a positive learning environment that encourages student growth.
