Job Description
The School Sisters of St. Francis is looking for a Companion/Health Advocate Assistant to work part-time.
30-36 Hours per pay period; Hours are 9:00am-3:00pm.
SUMMARY: Provides a wide range of support activities for the Sisters and the Health Advocate team. Serves as companion and Health Advocate Assistant to the U.S. Province Sisters, at the direction of the Health & Wellness Director and/or Provincial Team to facilitate specific services when needed for the Sisters. Works within a team structure with all members of nursing to provide companionship during medical appointments. Provide updates as needed to Health & Wellness Director, Health Advocates, Personal Services Coordinator, SSSF Director of Nursing to ensure Sisters’ needs are met.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED). One-year-related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATION:
Valid, unencumbered driver’s license required. Current unencumbered Certification as a Nursing Assistant in the State of Wisconsin. Basic Life Saving (BLS) certification with American Heart Association or other recognized entity.
Compensation based on experience and training. Pay starting at $18.00 /hour based on experience.

You will aid with dressing, bathing, ambulation, transfers, meals, and supporting a robust activity program. You will be provided with the equipment and supplies that you will need to provide excellent care.

- Accompanies Sisters to medical consultations. Carries out other nursing assistant tasks when requested by other department or facility directors.
- Communicates with the Health & Wellness Director and Health Advocate follow-up information from the Sisters’ medical visits.
- Consults and collaborates with the Health & Wellness Director or Personal Service Coordinator to establish an informed understanding of the present and future health needs of the Sisters and how best to serve those needs.
- Collaborates with other Health Advocates to meet Sisters’ health care needs in a timely manner.
- Collaborates with the Health & Wellness Director and/or Personal Services Coordinator to assist with Sister relocation upon request.
- Assists with organization and/or packing of Sister’s belongings,
- Assists with other duties as assigned.
- Works with multiple departments including Personal Services/Pastoral Care, Activities, Nursing, and Administration services.
- Possesses exceptional organizational skills, multi-tasking ability, and effective communication skills to ensure Sisters and nursing staff are well informed.
- Is willing to serve in a variety of ways to enhance the lives of Sisters.
- Keeps the office area clean and neat.
- Maintains a neat, well-groomed appearance.
