Job Description
Part-time: 64 hours per pay period. 8:30/9:00am-5:00/5:30pm. Weekend on-call rotation and Holiday rotation.
Job Summary: Under the supervision of the Director of Nursing, the Infection Preventionist/Staff Education and Development Coordinator is responsible for the ongoing development, coordination, and monitoring of the facility’s health promotion and infection prevention and control program (IPCP) for sister residents and employees. Ensures compliance of these programs with all related governing regulations. Leads and participates in clinical quality improvement projects and activities. The IPCP is designed to provide a safe, sanitary, and comfortable environment and to help prevent the development and transmission of communicable diseases and infections. The Infection Preventionist/Staff Education and Development Coordinator oversees the licensed nursing staff and the sister residents plan of care and assists in the training and development activities for nursing staff of the organization in collaboration with the Director of Nursing, Human Resources Director, and other Department Managers of the organization.
Qualifications/Education:
Bachelor’s degree or Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program required.
Minimum of three years of clinical nursing experience required. One year of experience in infection control preferred.
CPR Certification required.
Excellent ability to lead and develop personnel.
Basic computer skills including ability to learn and use computer applications necessary for performance of job responsibilities.
Valid, unencumbered license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Wisconsin.
