The Schoolcraft United Methodist Church is a warm and welcoming community of believers who care for one another like family.
Position: Organist/Pianist
Hours: Part-time (approximately 3 hours per week)
Includes Saturday morning rehearsals and Sunday worship services. Sunday service is at 10 a.m. with preparation at 9 a.m. Occasional special services as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the pastor and worship team to select, prepare, and perform music that complements the worship theme.
- Play piano and/or organ for Sunday services, offering a blend of traditional hymns and contemporary praise music.
- Accompany and rehearse with the praise band and visiting soloists or choir as needed.
- Provide music for special services (e.g., Christmas Eve, weddings, and funerals, etc)
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in playing piano and/or organ across diverse musical styles.
- A heart for ministry and a desire to enhance worship through music.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills.
- Creativity and flexibility to adapt to the needs of the congregation.
- Willingness to pass a background check.
