Job Title: Museum Educator
Job Summary:
Looking for a part-time experienced preschool/early elementary teacher to lead Museum programs both in house and for outreach! Love process art, sensory experiences and open ended activities? Enjoy creating and/or leading S.T.E.A.M. programs for little ones? Then this might be the opportunity you've been looking for.
Duties:
- Develop age-appropriate lesson plans and educational activities that align with the museum's mission.
- Foster a positive learning environment that encourages curiosity, creativity, and exploration.
- Utilize effective classroom management techniques to ensure a safe and inclusive space for all children.
Experience:
- Minimum CDA or AA required; Bachelors in related field preferred.
- STEAM/science teaching background preferred.
- Able to be self-directed, dependable, team player with minimal supervision, in a flexible environment.
- Ability to interact positively with children, parents and coworkers
- Experience creating lesson plans and curriculum, incorporating State Standards, for program series.
- Ability to use independent judgment in addressing issues, setting work priorities, and handling multiple tasks with frequent interruptions, while being detail-oriented throughout.
- Ability to maintain professionalism at all times and use independent judgment.
- Experience in a customer service environment required.
- Bilingual: English and Spanish for our Spanish Story Time
