Schoolhouse is seeking an experienced Human Resources Coordinator to help support our growing business.
The successful candidate will be a “hands on” human resources professional with demonstrated accomplishments in their field. This individual will be a key member of our human resources team.
The Human Resources Coordinator will be responsible for helping with day-to-day HR responsibilities to include development of HR procedures and policies, talent acquisition and onboarding, employee relations, compensation and benefits, performance management, organizational development activities, employee communication, HRIS and HR compliance.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Primary responsibility will be recruitment for all departments, working collectively with the business to efficiently and effectively onboard new members of the team
- Administrate the planning, orientation and onboarding of new prospective candidates for our California operation
- In conjunction with the Human Resources Manager, educate health and welfare benefit programs to attract, motivate, reward and retain employees.
- Troubleshoot issues and advocate for employees where appropriate.
- Assist with the design and development of Standard Operating Procedures and Policies
- Support management team in performance appraisal process and provide counsel on corrective action, where appropriate.
- Provide support and counsel to all members of the leadership team on workplace matters.
- Contribute to a positive employee relations environment. Foster a collaborative culture. Focus on employee engagement.
- Maintain a regular and visible presence
- Review company hiring policies and procedures on a regular based to ensure we are current with Federal, State and Local laws
- Work with our Safety Team to establish safety topics and standards company wide
- Oversee training programs for both manufacturing personnel and office salaried employees
- Work with supervisors to develop and implement performance reviews
- Develop with management detailed job descriptions and keep updated
- Other duties as directed

Experience and Qualifications:
- At least 2 years as a Human Resources experience preferred.
- Experience in supporting Human Resources team on an administrative level
- Understanding of Human Resources practices, policies and procedures
- Demonstrated understanding of the risk management components of this role and proven ability to mitigate risks for the organization, such as Worker’s Compensation.
- Well-versed in legal and regulatory matters that affect the workplace.
- Demonstrated experience in presenting to leadership, employees and external constituents.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources or a related field.
- SHRM certification is a plus.
