Schoolhouse Staffing is seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist (OT) to join a school-based team in Oak Brook, IL. This role involves helping students develop the skills they need to succeed academically by providing therapy services, assessments, and individualized intervention plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct evaluations and assessments to determine students’ functional abilities and needs.
- Develop and implement individualized therapy plans to improve fine motor skills, sensory processing, and self-care abilities.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and special education teams to integrate therapy into the classroom environment.
- Provide direct therapy services to students in individual and group settings.
- Monitor and document student progress, making adjustments to treatment plans as needed.
- Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, contributing expertise on occupational therapy goals.
- Educate school staff and parents on techniques to support students' occupational development.
- Ensure compliance with Illinois state regulations and school district policies.
Qualifications
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Valid Illinois Occupational Therapist License.
- Experience in a school-based setting is preferred but not required.
- Strong knowledge of pediatric occupational therapy techniques, sensory integration, and assistive technology.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
