Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher (LBS1) to provide exceptional instruction and support for primary students, primarily in 2nd grade. This position focuses on inclusion with some resource support, working with students with behavioral, academic, and attention/focus needs.
Responsibilities
- Provide differentiated instruction in an inclusive and resource setting
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Monitor and report student progress through data collection and IEP progress updates
- Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to ensure student success
- Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and structured learning environment
Requirements
- Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 Endorsement
- Experience working with primary-grade students (Preferred)
- Strong understanding of special education practices and behavioral interventions
- Ability to manage a caseload of 10-12 students effectively
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
