Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess students speech and language needs.
- Develop and implement individual and group therapy sessions focusing on articulation, fluency, language development, and social communication.
- Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and families to integrate speech-language goals into classroom activities and Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Monitor student progress, maintain accurate records, and adjust therapy plans as needed.
- Participate in IEP meetings, providing expert recommendations for student support.
- Stay up to date with best practices and compliance requirements under New Mexico Public Education Department (NMPED) guidelines.
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology or a related field.
- Valid New Mexico Speech-Language Pathologist license or CCC-SLP certification from ASHA.
- Experience in a school-based setting is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of speech and language disorders, intervention strategies, and IEP processes.
- Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
