Position Overview:
We are seeking passionate and experienced educators to join our Summer Multi-Sensory Literacy Program as instructors. This role is ideal for professionals with expertise in structured literacy approaches, particularly Orton-Gillingham-based methodologies. Instructors will be responsible for delivering engaging, multi-sensory lessons to small groups of students, focusing on phonemic awareness, decoding, encoding, sentence fluency, and comprehension skills. They will also be expected to assess student progress, communicate with parents and program coordinators, and provide an enriching, supportive learning environment.

About the Program:
Our Orton-Gillingham-based Multi-Sensory Literacy Program is designed to support incoming first through fourth-grade students who are progressing toward grade-level expectations in reading, spelling, and writing. The program focuses on developing and reinforcing foundational literacy skills through structured, multi-sensory instruction that is sequential and research-based. Class sizes are intentionally kept small to provide individualized attention and targeted skill development. The program is designed to build confidence and literacy fluency through evidence-based strategies, ensuring that students leave with stronger foundational skills that support their ongoing academic journey.

Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver structured literacy instruction using multi-sensory teaching strategies tailored to individual student needs.
- Utilize systematic and explicit instruction to reinforce phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension skills.
- Assess student progress using formative and summative assessment tools and adjust instructional plans accordingly.
- Foster a supportive and engaging learning environment that promotes confidence and skill development.
- Collaborate with fellow educators and learning specialists to ensure student success, program success, and share best practices.
- Provide timely feedback to parents, program coordinators, and other relevant stakeholders regarding student progress and areas for growth.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and participation, ensuring data-driven instruction.
- Support students in developing self-regulation and independent learning strategies to promote long-term success.
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Education, Special Education, Reading/Literacy, or a related field.
- Certification or training in Orton-Gillingham, or a similar structured literacy approach is preferred.
- Experience working with elementary students in a literacy-focused setting.
- Strong understanding of phonemic awareness, phonics, and evidence-based reading instruction.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to differentiate instruction and support diverse learning needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with students with dyslexia or other language-based learning differences.
- Previous experience teaching in a small-group or intervention setting.
- Background in multi-sensory teaching methodologies.
