SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGIST
Qualifications
Valid Tennessee school service personnel license with appropriate endorsement
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Performs psycho educational assessments on referred students
- Prepares written reports of assessments
- Provides feedback to teachers concerning assessment
- Assists educational personnel with the interpretation of psycho educational evaluations
- Interprets assessment findings to parents at eligibility meetings
- Develops suggestions/recommendations concerning individualized educational programs for students
- Participates in RTI Process and Intervention Team meetings when necessary
- Assists with Gifted Screening Process in schools
- Participates in Preschool Transition and Eligibility Meetings as needed
- Collaborates with school personnel regarding individual student needs
- Stays abreast of changes in special education rules, regulations, laws, and court decisions
- Assists with the development and presentation of in-service activities
- Attends workshops, trainings, and state meetings to stay abreast of new assessment tools, procedures, and developments in the field of school psychology
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Schools
