Reports to : Preschool Director
Employment Type : Part Time. Monday - Thursday 3-6pm and Friday 12pm-6pm
FLSA Status : Non-Exempt
Pay Rate : $17.50 per hour.
The Diocese of San Diego is seeking a qualified, experienced and passionate preschool teacher who is deeply committed to developing Christ-centered, forward-thinking leaders to serve our future Church and our world. The professional hired to work as a teacher at our school will be responsible for the general supervision and management of children between the ages of three and five years of age.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Assist students, individually or in small groups, with lesson assignments during homework time
- Monitor individual and / or groups of students in a variety of settings including the play structure and Art Room
- Communicate with the parents through daily drop-off and pick-up
- Maintain a safe environment for students
- Responsible for all activity and preparations for the program
- Follow and enforce all safety policies
- Assist with student check-in / out
- Maintain a clean work area
- Performs other jobs / tasks / duties deemed necessary for a smooth functioning program as assigned by the principal and follow directions provided by the daycare coordinator (direct supervisor)

To successfully meet the needs of the students in his / her care, the teacher must :
While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to be inside the classroom. The employee is required to be mobile to, from, and within the classroom and preschool environment, as well as maneuver throughout the school facility to attend meetings, trainings, and other work-related events. The employee may be required to conduct trips to, from, and within various city and county-wide locations to attend trainings or workshops.
