What are the responsibilities and job description for the Associate Attorney position at Schoonover & Moriarty LLC?
Job details:
Schoonover & Moriarty is looking for an associate attorney to join our team. Our firm represents a diverse group of national businesses that provide a wide array of goods and services to the federal government. Our work has a substantial impact on how and where federal dollars are spent. Attorneys routinely work with clients on multimillion dollar procurements and play an important role in government accountability.
Many of our clients are small businesses owned by minorities, women, and veterans that seek assistance qualifying for unique federal assistance programs that provide increased opportunity through limited competition. The associate position will research applicable regulations and apply the requirements to real-world scenarios.
We also represent contractors litigating issues related to federal contracting opportunities. Federal procurement litigation applies unique procedures that emphasize written briefing over oral advocacy and largely sidestep traditional discovery. Cases resolve quickly, which keeps the work environment fresh. The associate position will have a frontline role in researching cases, developing arguments, and briefing issues.
Our culture has developed to embrace our unique work. The office environment is energetic and collaborative. While some evening and weekend work occurs, it’s generally the exception. Most attorneys work a regular workday and stay on top of their caseload.
Our ideal candidate will be excited by our mixture of litigation, regulatory analysis, contract interpretation, and compliance work. They will be able to adapt to our practice quickly, handle several matters at a time, work well under deadline, and be an excellent communicator particularly as a writer. Intellectual curiosity and confidence are required.
