Accountant
We are looking for an exceptional individual to join our growing team. Schram Auto & Truck Parts is a family owned and operated automotive salvage yard that has been in the business of selling new and used auto parts for 100 years. The Accountant is responsible for overseeing financial statements like balance sheets, invoices, accounts payable and accounts receivable. Compiling financial reports based on financial statements and implementing policies and procedures for financial reporting.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist management with important financial decisions
- Prepare financial documents such as business reports, financial forecasts, budgets and statements to understand the financial state of business
- Prepare monthly sales tax returns
- Prepare quarterly financial statements for the bank
- Coordinate with external accountants for annual review, quarterly tax estimates and tax return preparation
- Prepare annual Michigan Flow-Through Entity tax returns
- Supervise employees who work under the Accountant
- Monitor financial reports and determine ways to reduce costs
- Participate in leadership meetings
- Other tasks as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Must enjoy and excel in a team environment
- Advanced time management skills
- Ability to use Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word
- Sage accounting software experience is a plus
- Ability to read documents for general understanding, for analytical purposes and for a high degree of accuracy.
Credentials and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or business administration
