SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
The Texas Center Graduate Fellowship is a competitive position open to holders of a bachelor’s degree and pursuing graduate work. This position is keenly positioned to gain experience in online and face to face undergraduate education, special events of short duration including lectureships and community gatherings, as well as weeks-long educational master classes including the Western Art Academy. There will also be opportunities to participate and commercial enterprises including the development and marketing of products including books through State House Press, Heritage Tourism through Bear Leader Tours, and Texas Center related merchandise and products including curriculum and Texas-themed items. This may also include the establishment of strategic alliances with companies interested in supporting the work of The Texas Center through targeted sales and other offers
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Reading, writing, and speaking in English;
- Simple math skills;
- Computer literacy;
- Ability to lift fifty pounds;
- Accommodations might be made for differently abled individuals, although sight and hearing (modified or unmodified) are considered important and critical to this position;
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
- Batchelor’s degree
- Excellent language skills including communicating in written and spoken English;
- Ability to operate the Microsoft Suite of software including at least Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and aptitude for learning other software as needed;
- Initiative;
- Ability to work as part of a team;
- Ability to work alone;
- Excellent Interpersonal skills;
- Ability to handle simple mathematical calculations;
- Good customer relations skills;
- Experience with video and design software a plus;
- Expertise in social media welcome;
- Promotions, marketing, and sales experience valued as well.
