WDM Computer Repair Junior Technician

Schrock Innovations is hiring! We are looking for another computer repair Junior Technician in West Des Moines, IA to join our team!

This is a full or part time position that will require weekend and evening hours.

Candidates for this position should:

• Have knowledge of internal laptop and desktop components
• Experience with the hands-on repair of laptops and desktops a strong plus
• Be comfortable in Windows, OSx, iOS, and Android environments
• Be able and willing to directly communicate with customers
• Assist customers in their homes, over the Schrock Desk, or in the Service Center
• Be able to lift and carry up to 40lbs (think computer towers)
• Have a valid drivers license, insurance, and a good driving record
• Be able to pass a background check

At Schrock we take pride in the fact we make our customers' technology work for them. As a Junior Technician you are responsible for executing repairs and communicating with customers about those repairs. That responsibility includes:

• Working in a small team of coworkers (up to 3 people)
• Delivering award-winning customer service in person, on the phone and on-site
• Ensuring a customer's problem is resolved, which can be different than solving a technical issue
• Maintaining a clean and professional work environment
• Performing device repairs including hardware and software
• Making suggestions to customers to improve their IT security and experience

Schrock Innovations is primarily a break/fix PC, phone and tablet repair shop that also offers data recovery services, website design and development services, business IT support, and new hardware and software. You will spend most days performing tasks that may seem simple or common to you, but look like magic to our customers.

You will be able to wear comfortable clothes like jeans and shorts with uniform shirts, eat and drink while you work, get days off when you need them, and know that you are making a real difference in the every-day lives of our customers.

You typical day will involve helping customers who bring in computers, call in for assistance, send emails about problems they are having and occasionally bring you treats!

As a Junior Technician it is your job to handle the day-to-day computer repair, maintenance and service tasks our customers ask of us. You will be performing services on the bench in the Service Center, online via our Schrock Desk remote assistance portal, and on-site at businesses and in the homes of our customers. You will be talking directly to customers and making recommendations for upgrades and new computers.

Pay: $10.00 - $15.00 per hour
