The Role


We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Senior Business Development Consultant with a strong network in the financial advisory sector. In this pivotal role, you will leverage your professional relationships to attract and identify advisers and advisory firms for our network. Key responsibilities include:

  • Networking & Recruitment: Build a robust pipeline of high-quality recruitment opportunities targeting financial advice businesses and self-employed advisers, including network switchers and directly authorised firms.
  • Market Engagement: Represent Benchmark Capital at industry events, networking functions, and seminars, enhancing visibility and driving recruitment initiatives.
  • Stakeholder Interaction: Communicate effectively with various teams, including Membership, Partnership Directors, Service Delivery Managers, Marketing, and the UK Client Group team, ensuring alignment of recruitment strategies with business goals.
  • Understanding Market Dynamics: Stay updated on market trends and competitors to position Benchmark Capital as a partner of choice among financial advisers.


What You'll Need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field is desirable but not mandatory; relevant experience will also be considered.
  • Extensive knowledge of the Financial Services industry, particularly in Financial Planning/IFA and wrap/platform markets.
  • Proven success in business development, networking, and recruitment within the financial advisory ecosystem.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for engaging senior decision-makers.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with IT CRM systems.
  • A valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel as required.
  • A tenacious self-starter with strong analytical and decision-making abilities.
