The Supply Chain Specialist identifies and assesses current material accessibility and assists in reasonably predicting future availability based on market, delivery, and other variables.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Develops and maintains positive working relationships with vendors and wholesalers
- Oversees purchasing data within the company system for builders, vendors, and trades
- Identifies supply chain management issues and utilizes current vendor groups for assistance
- Collaborates interdepartmentally on issues that arise in the field regarding new or current vendors
- Dedicates time to upcoming special projects within the department
- Procures hard-to-find items for warehouse inventory
- Utilizes Excel to compare price quotes and received offers
- Oversees the gathering, submitting, and receiving of rebates from vendors
- Assists Product Supply Manager with vendor meetings to negotiate prices and terms for products
- Establishes offsite meetings with vendors, trades, and internal departments at least two days per week
- Creates, reviews, and delivers vendor and trade contracts
- Enters and tracks current rebate information for company product
- Proficient in the use of Windows operating system and Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to learn new software and utilize Company ERP systems
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively to key stakeholders
- Superior organizational and time management skills
- Prior vendor relationship management experience and negotiation skills highly preferred
- Works in a temperature-controlled environment, with medium noise levels
- Frequently required to walk, stand, and sit
