What are the responsibilities and job description for the Meat Clerk position at Schuette's Market?
Meat clerks assist the meat cutters in the meat department. The primary duties of a meat clerk include:
1. Serving customers.
2. Ordering, rotating & merchandising product in the meat department.
3. Operating & maintaining equipment & coolers.
4. Unloading trucks and assisting in unloading & receiving meat department deliveries.
5. Cleaning the display cases & work area.
This position requires:
1. Demonstrated excellent people skills. Must be able to communicate with customers & co-workers in a friendly, efficient manner. Must be a team player!
2. Basic math skills. Must be able to perform basic math computations, such as addition subtraction, and division.
3. High, self-starter motivation with a sense of urgency and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment at all times.
4. Standing, walking, bending, climbing throughout the entire work day and the ability to lift, stack and maneuver objects.
Weekend, evening and holiday work will be required in the position. Minimum age for employment is 18.
