Job Duties And Responsibilities
- Supervises, trains, monitors and coaches bar staff
- Directs bar and event staff as needed to ensure all aspects of service meet operational standards
- Performs bar opening and/or closing duties
- Manage staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage during peak hours and events
- Reinforces a customer service mentality and ensures all employees are focused on serving the customer at all times
- Create, lead, coordinate, and execute public events with the support of the team.
- Ensure smooth execution of beverage service, including timely delivery of drinks and managing customer flow
- Immediately and respectfully resolves guest requests
- Details event orders and distributes to staff
- Facilitate open lines of communication between all departments to ensure successful execution of public events
- Create and cultivate community ties to remain relevant in the public event space and tapped into the importance of driving community values in conjunction with El Rey's values and Mission.
- Manage bar set up and breakdown, including equipment and decorations
- Maintaining and clearing of event space before and after events
- Perform various other duties as assigned
- Minimum of High School education
- Minimum of two (2) years in restaurant/bar experience leading shifts without supervision
- Certification in bartending preferred
- Alcohol awareness certification preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally
- Team player
- Ability to exceed expectations of guests and team members
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to work flexible hours and shifts
- Knowledge of local alcohol serving practices and standards
- Knowledge of federal and state labor laws as well as local health and sanitation laws and regulations
