Job Duties And Responsibilities
- Develop a robust weekly / monthly / annual cultural, entertainment and programming strategy that highlights the best in lifestyle, arts, music, fashion, media, and health wellness
- Develop ROI-generating events that elevate the overall awareness of the Ellie / Doubletree brand and position it as a market leader for programming
- Work closely with the General Manager, Director of Sales and Marketing and Director of F&B to propose, align, and execute program concepts and straregy
- Foster partnerships with local and national partners to position Ellie / Doubletree as the cultural and entertainment mecca of Myrtle Beach
- Leverage expertise and strong local networks in music, art, fashion, media, and wellness to enhance programming and drive business growth
- Forge meaningful partnerships with local creative communities to create memorable events and activations for internal and external guests
- Build and maintain strong relationships with all hotel departments and F&B outlets to ensure seamless event execution
- Establish and expand connections with key speakers, influencers, and companies to secure ongoing support for the programming and cultural strategy
- Focus on delivering impactful events that prioritize quality over quantity, while ensuring financial forecasting and control
- Monitor industry trends and consistently benchmark our events against competitors, positioning the Ellie / Doubletree as a leader in cultural programming
- Amplify and enhance the Ellie / Doubletree brand identity through carefully curated programming efforts
- Ensure all programs are delivered within budget and forecast frameworks for revenue and expenses
- Lead weekly meetings to review upcoming events, activities, and long-term strategy for the ass
- Maintain discretion and confidentiality when addressing ongoing challenges or sensitive matters
- Demonstrate an understanding of marketing and public relations practices, ensuring alignment with industry standards
- Develop engaging activity schedules for hotel guests and community locals
- Coordinate key events with the Marketing team to ensure exceptional guest experiences
- Bachelor’s degree in Arts, Business, Marketing Communications, Event Management, Hospitality, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 -5 years of experience in marketing, event programming and management, preferably in hospitality or entertainment environment
- Strong understanding of the music, art, fashion, film, and wellness industries, both locally and nationally
- Proven success in developing and executing high-impact events
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Creative, innovative thinker with a passion for entertainment, cultural programming and activation strategy
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Delphi / event management software
- Skilled at building and maintaining relationships with internal teams, external vendors, and guests.
- Energetic, engaging and enthusiastic for creating best-in-class programming!
- Must have flexible work hours that may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Minimum of bachelor’s degree in Hotel Administration, Business, or Marketing or equivalent.
- Minimum of (5) years in programming, event planning or equivalent role within the hospitality industry.
- Proven track record of developing and executing successful events and activities.
- Strong negotiation and partnership development skills.
- Proven interpersonal communication skills for creating lasting partnerships.
