Job Duties And Responsibilities
- Welcome all guests promptly as they arrive
- Take guests food and beverage orders, utilize sales techniques, and provide recommendations as needed
- Accurately maintain orders in the POS system
- Follow our standard steps of service which may include bussing tables, marking tables, clearing tables, topping up water and running food
- Maintain knowledge of all food & drink menu items as well as ingredients of each item
- Effectively communicate with the kitchen, to ensure a positive guest experience
- Retrieve and serve beverages from the service bar
- Open all wine and champagne using proper wine service techniques
- Acknowledge and assist all guests regardless of whether they are in your section
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of all service areas
- Treat all allergies with the utmost importance, communicating to chefs and managers
- Ensure accuracy of guest checks and promptly process payments
- Always follow outlined cash handling procedures and ensure accuracy as it relates to your own bank
- Complete opening and closing tasks as well as extra cleaning projects as needed
- Maintain a positive and friendly attitude at all times, even when working to achieve solutions to challenges
- Lend a hand to not only guests but your colleagues and team alike
- Minimum of High School education, post-high school education preferred
- Minimum of one (1) year in hotel/restaurant serving role
- You have restaurant or hospitality related experience in a similar role
- You're able to provide a great level of service to guests all while handling many other tasks simultaneously
- You have a baseline of service standards and food and beverage knowledge
