Description
The Shaw JCC is a large community center in Akron that offers an array of services in recreations, fitness, wellness and aquatics. We are looking for an full-time Aquatic Manager who will be responsible for staffing, training, and programming of the aquatics department, which includes lifeguards, swim instructors and coaches. The candidate will be professional, able to manage large group of young adults and extremely organized. Key responsibilities includes:
- Hire and train all aquatic staff including lifeguards, swim instructors and coaches.
- Create and maintain staff schedules and review and approve timecards to ensure accurate payroll.
- Maintain accurate records for all required staff certifications.
- Provide required in-service training for CPR, First Aid, and Water Safety, as needed.
- Ensure accident and rescue reports are filed timely.
- Order and stock supplies for all Jump Bags and First Aid boxes.
- Maintain all campus AEDs are in working order.
- Maintenance of rescue equipment for lifeguards.
- Organize aquatic events and classes for other departments throughout the year, as needed.
- Focus on revenue growth and new aquatics programming.
Requirements
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to problem solve and manage large staff of people
- Strong organizational planning and time management skills
- Able to manage a department budget
Education
- Bachelor's Degree preferred and 2 years of related experience. In lieu of BA, Assoicate's Degree in the relate field and 3-5 yers of related work experience
- Preferred certifications as American Red Cross Certified Lifeguard and American Red Cross Certified Water Safety Instructor and Certified Pool Operator
Salary : $42,000 - $52,000
