Schumacher Automotive Group in West Palm Beach is seeking an Express Service Advisor for our GMC dealership who will oversee the day-to-day operations and flow of the Service Drive. This includes promptly greeting customers, assisting them with any questions or concerns with their scheduled maintenance, addressing and responding to any mechanical or factory warranty questions. The Express Service Advisor serves as a liaison between the Customers and Technicians, swiftly resolving questions and any matters that may occur
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Oversees flow of the Service Drive Lane
- Ensures that customers receive prompt, courteous, and effective service Performs a vehicle walk-around.
- Obtains customer and vehicle data prior to arrival when possible.
- Communicates additional repair and service needs to the customer based on vehicle inspections.
- Advises customers on any needed routine maintenance work to their vehicle while keeping the customer's best interest in mind.
- Prepares a complete and accurate estimate of cost for labor and parts
- Welcomes customers to the service bay; helps identify the service needed on the car.
- Prepares service work orders showing time, cost, and labor estimates for service.
- Writes description of the customer's concern on the repair order to help their technician locate service need of the car.
- Establishes "delivery time" based on initial estimate scope of work,
- Checks on progress of repair throughout the day. Contacts customers regarding any changes in the estimate or promised time, explains cost and time requirements in detail, and gets proper authorization before any additional repairs are performed.
- Explains the work performed and the service and / or repair order charges to the customer.
- Obtains customer's signature on service and / or repair order; provides customer with a copy.
- Establishes customer's method of payment. Obtains credit approval, if necessary.
