Job Title: CNC Machine Operator
Reporting To: Production Manager
The North American location of GROUP SCHUMACHER is a global player for cutting and binding components in the agriculture industry.
As a CNC Machine Operator, your primary responsibility is to run various forms of CNC and manual manufacturing equipment in order to make fabricated or machined parts that meet customer specification. This includes, but is not limited to, set up, operation, inspection and final packaging of a variety of components related to the agriculture industry. You should be able to read and understand standard work instructions, blue prints, inspection plans, and other manufacturing aids.
You will be detail oriented and are able to learn and use new processes and systems easily. You work well in a fast-paced, customer- focused environment; enjoy working as a team and contributing to a growing company.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Set up and operation of a variety of CNC and manual equipment horizontal machining center, drill presses, heat treat equipment, and turning centers, etc.
- Read and understand customer blue prints, inspection plans and follow standard operations
- Use basic inspection equipment including tape measure, calipers, micrometers, and specialized gages as required.
- Focus on continually improving the processes and areas in which you work
- Assists in other work areas as needed
Qualifications:
- Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment (min. 3 years)
- Operation of CNC horizontal, vertical, and turning machining centers (min. 3 years)
- Experience using basic inspection gages such as calipers & micrometers on a regular basis
- Ability to read blue prints and inspect work according to defined instructions and control plans
- Demonstrate reliable work and attendance history
- Ability to work in team environment, multiple roles based on changing work schedules
- Manual lifting up to 40 pounds repetitively
- Positive attitude
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to take direction
- Demonstrated experience in manufacturing shop floor environment and understanding of shop floor safety practices and work roles
- Following training, able to organize and lead activities in assigned work area
- High School Diploma or GED
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
