Job Title: Quality Inspector
Department: Production
Reporting To: Quality Manager
Wage: $19.00 to $20.00/hour commensurate with experience
The North American location of GROUP SCHUMACHER is a global player for cutting and binding components in the agriculture industry.
As a Quality Inspector, your primary responsibility is to utilize both hand and CMM tools to inspect insure products meet customer specification. This includes, but is not limited to, incoming product inspection, first piece inspection, final inspection, and process auditing. You should be able to read, understand, and create inspection plans, control plans, and audit schedules.
You will be detail oriented and are able to learn and use new processes and systems easily. You work well in a fast-paced, customer- focused environment; enjoy working as a team and contributing to a growing company.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Set up and layout of a variety of fabricated and machined metal parts confirming they meet print and customer specifications.
- Read and understand customer blue prints, inspection plans and follow standard operations
- Use basic inspection equipment including tape measure, calipers, micrometers, Romer Arm, and specialized gages as required.
- Focus on continually improving the processes and areas in which you work
- Develop, implement, and audit control plans and perform periodic in-process inspection of a variety of manufacturing processes including machining, welding, and painting.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment as an inspector or quality tech
- Experience using basic and advanced inspection gages on a regular basis
- Demonstrate reliable work and attendance history
- Ability to work in team environment, multiple roles based on changing work schedules
- Manual lifting up to 40 pounds repetitively
- Positive attitude
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to take direction
- Demonstrated experience in manufacturing shop floor environment and understanding of shop floor safety practices and work roles
- Able to discern and follow written work instructions and basic blue print reading
- Ability to inspect work according to defined instructions and control plans
- Following training, able to organize and lead activities in assigned work area
- High School Diploma or GED
