SUMMARY
The Material Handler/Forklift Operator is responsible for loading, unloading, and moving all materials throughout the facility for processing and assists in the handling/processing of materials.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (Other duties may be assigned and management retains the discretion to add, delete, or change the duties at any time)
- Load and/or unload materials on trailers
- Weigh, label, and properly store all processed materials as required
- Maintain and service the forklift truck and inform the Supervisor of any significant issues
- Complete forklift inspections by checking the items on the Daily Forklift Inspection sheet and reports any significant issues to shift supervisor and documents findings
- Operate balers, granulators, trash compactor, and other equipment as needed
- Provide proper weight tickets to front office for billing purposes
- Ensure proper tare weight program is used for material by referencing spec sheets
- Use electrical hoist to put new spools of wire on spindles that weigh up to 100 pounds
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures and use required PPE (personal protective equipment) which includes, but is not limited to: proper ear, eye, and hand protection
- Must be able to interact in-person with coworkers and the public
- Must be able to handle high stress situations
- Assist others with their job duties when needed
- Sweep up debris as needed in the following areas: shipping/ receiving trailers, granulators, balers, floor scales, and surrounding warehouse areas; and empty trash containers throughout the facility
- Perform daily scale inspections as needed
- Assist with daily inventory
- Must have effective communication skills in order to understand and follow written and verbal work instruction and safety standards
- Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Prior forklift experience, certification, or the ability to be forklift certified
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Ability to work within a loud, wet and physically demanding work environment
