The Quality Control Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Quality Control team to ensure all products meet the safety, regulatory, and quality standards of Certor Sports and that of the National Operating Committee on Standards for Athletic Equipment (NOCSAE) prior to approval for distribution or further production. This includes managing and performing finished product inspections and testing, and the use of specialized physical test equipment. The supervisor ensures that all the in-process testing processes are carried out in accordance with company protocols and industry standards, leads the QC team, provides guidance and training, and collaborates with other departments to resolve quality issues and improve processes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise and lead the quality control team to ensure that products meet safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Develop, implement, and refine quality control procedures, ensuring consistency and compliance with NOCSAE, SEI, and company standards.
- Perform inspections and tests on components, assemblies, and finished products at various stages of production.
- Coordinate and monitor calibration, maintenance, and validation of testing equipment to ensure it is operating at optimal levels.
- Analyze test results, inspection data, and quality metrics to identify trends, issues, and areas for improvement.
- Lead the investigation of non-conforming materials or products, initiate corrective actions, and monitor their effectiveness.
- Ensure that quality control records are accurate, complete, and comply with both internal and external standards.
- Provide training and mentorship to quality control staff, fostering a team-oriented environment and promoting continuous improvement.
- Facilitate communication between the quality control team, production, engineering, and other departments to resolve quality issues efficiently.
- Assist in the preparation for and coordination of internal and external quality audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and ensure that all activities within the quality department align with company goals and industry regulations.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and process optimization efforts to enhance product quality and operational efficiency.
- Review and update quality control documentation, including inspection protocols, testing procedures, and process workflows.
- Manage inventory and resources for the quality control department, ensuring adequate supplies and tools are available.
- Ensure all testing equipment is up-to-date and properly calibrated, coordinating with third parties as needed to maintain functionality.
