Global Packaging Container Company located in North Branch is searching for Financial Controller.
The Financial Controller is responsible for hands-on management of the day-to-day accounting, financial reporting and planning, including the development and continuous improvement of processes and systems to support the timely and accurate reporting of costing, financial results and forecasts as well as involvement in the daily operation of plant locations.
Duties and Responsibilities :
• Accurately execute tasks involving general accounting and cost accounting assignments as well as reconciliations of sub-ledgers for inventories.
• Support most aspects of accounting functions including, production reporting and inventory control.
• Ensure the accuracy of financial reports and information.
• Issue timely, accurate, and complete weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly financial reports.
• Review journal entries, reports, and other information produced by others.
• Assist other team members as necessary to achieve the organization's overall operational and financial goals.
• Participate in the month-end closing of General Ledger - journal entry preparation and input, financial analysis, corporate reporting requirements-supplemental schedules as needed.
• Control, review and counts of monthly cycle counts and quarterly inventory at plant locations and with auditors at year end.
• Develop, implement, monitor, and constantly improve financial control systems.
• Identify opportunities to automate and improve daily accounting processes.
• Other duties / ad hoc requests as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in accounting
• Licensed CPA, preferred
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in accounting with 3 years of managerial experience
• Demonstrated history of fiscal responsibility and experience with best practices in accounting, internal controls, budget, finance and business
• Ability to travel as needed– 20-30%.
Required Skills:
• Excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills.
• Proactive, analytical, and work with a sense of urgency with minimal supervision
• Highly detailed oriented and organized, with the ability to multi-task several projects on short deadlines
• Strong knowledge of SAP, preferred
• Strong PC skills with knowledge of MS Office PowerPoint and expertise in Excel.
• Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles along with excellent technical and comprehensive abilities.
