TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST I
Qualifications:
- Minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Technology and/or Technical Certificate/Industry Certification. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- General knowledge in computers, hardware, software, and networks.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Provide Level 11 and 22 technical support for computers, equipment, and other technology services that enhance educational programs and administrative functions within the Schuylkill Intermediate Unit 29, Schuylkill Technology Center, and member school districts.
- Level 1 is the first line of problem management and support, providing local assistance with computer related questions.
- Level 2 support aids with advanced features and possible product bugs and failures, possibly requiring research and more complex diagnostic and problem resolution skills.
Responsibilities:
- Provide help desk support and identify problems, troubleshoots, and provides advice in technology related services.
- Support and assist district, IU, and STC staff by providing individual assistance with procedural, hardware and software issues, and skills development services.
- Support and assist district, IU, and STC staff by providing assistance with government reporting, data analysis, data structures and related skills development.
- Test, install, troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, audio/video, and peripheral equipment and cabling problems/issues throughout the districts, IU, and STC in a timely and professional manner.
- Deliver, unpack, configure, install and maintain computer, peripheral, and audio/video equipment.
- Maintain user accounts; add/changes/deletes, for various logins including G Suite, Microsoft, etc., for IU and STC.
- Install software as per procedures and vendor licensing agreements.
- Preview and evaluate hardware and software.
- Effectively use new and existing equipment and software.
- Maintain a professional, clean, orderly, and safe working environment.
- Assist the technology staff with any issues related to current and future technology initiatives.
- Catalog and track technology related items within the IU29 inventory system from purchasing of assets to end-of-life (recycled).
- Assist in organizing and executing technology events, in-service programs, and workshops.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of IU and STC websites.
- Perform other duties as assigned by and discussed with the Coordinator of Technology Services.

Method of Evaluation:
- Performance of the job will be evaluated annually by the Coordinator of Technology Services in accordance with provisions of the Board’s Policy on evaluation of personnel.

Terms of Employment:
- Employment shall be twelve [12] months per year. Salary and benefits will be established by the Board of Directors.
