YOUR ROLE AS A ANIMAL CARE SPECIALIST (PART-TIME)
Your day-to-day responsibilities will be both fulfilling and dynamic. This position will provide support to the breeding or farrowing teams by
- Providing care for animals, ensuring they have access to food, water and a comfortable environment
- Assist with movement of animals
- Treat and vaccinate animals
- Assist in power washing
- Promote a safe work environment
- Maintain PQA certification status (provided on the job)
- Follow all bio-security policies and procedures
- f lifting a minimum of 50 lbs. with reasonable accommodation
- Demonstrate Schwartz Farms' values of integrity, respect, excellence and adaptability
- Advocate and engage in SFI's animal welfare policy, including promoting animal well-being, remedying circumstances which impede animal care, and properly reporting instances of mistreatment or abuse
- Additional duties may be assigned as they arise
Work with your manager on establishing a schedule and weekend rotation.
