Progress Container & Display, a TRG (The Royal Group) company and affiliate of Schwarz Partners is currently seeking a Shipping and Receiving Clerk to support our Winder, GA facility! The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for receiving, storing and distributing incoming materials and assembling and preparing customer orders for shipment. Working from purchase orders, packing lists, customer orders, customer routing guides, carrier lists and instructions.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS FOR THIS POSITION:
- Unload trucks and receive incoming material, check vendor packing list with items received and verify accuracy of items with purchase orders.
- Note items received, order discrepancies and damages on packing list.
- Place stock items in appropriate bin location and move nonstock items to shipping staging area.
- Prepare orders for shipment, pull items from bin locations and staging area, place in cartons and palletize as necessary, attach shipping labels, prepare bills of lading, contact carrier for pick up and load trucks.
- Prepare UPS shipments on manifest system, package items, apply labels, stage items for pick up and close out manifest system at the end of the day.
- Maintain stock room and stocking locations in orderly condition.
- Maintain related records and files.
- Notify supervisor to order shipping supplies as needed and of unusual problems.
- Inspect customer returned goods for accuracy and condition.
- Contact various carriers for rate quotes on special and/or large shipments to obtain best rate.
- Use fork lift truck, hand trucks, UPS manifest system, strapping equipment, scales, overhead hoist and hand tools.
- Follow safety rules and keep work area in a clean and orderly condition.
- Maintain and update raw material and finished goods inventories.

- Perform other related duties as assigned. Regular and predictable attendance.
- • High school diploma or GED; plus one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience desirable. Experience in the corrugated industry a plus.
- Ability to add, to subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to use tape measure; and to use a computer. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs; ability to use tape measure.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and employees of the organization.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
