Farm Hand

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Farm Hand to join our family farm operation. The ideal candidate will be responsible for various tasks related to farm operations, including crop management and equipment maintenance. This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a passion for working outdoors in a dynamic environment. We are a regenerative farm so any knowledge in that area is a plus but we will train and educate the right candidate.

Duties

• Assist with planting, spraying and harvesting crops in accordance with seasonal schedules.
• Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition.
• Utilize hand tools and forklifts for various tasks around the farm.
• Supervise and train new staff or seasonal workers as needed to ensure efficient farm operation.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, including the shop and machine sheds and dryer/bin setup.
• Conduct basic math calculations for inventory management and crop yields.

Skills

• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by farm tasks.
• Basic math skills for measuring, calculating yields, and managing supplies.
• Knowledge of operating various farm machinery safely and effectively.
• Experience with growing crops or managing agricultural processes is preferred.
• Competence in using hand tools for maintenance and repair tasks around the farm.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
