Description
SCI Engineering is a multi-discipline firm offering a variety of services from the design development stage through construction. We specialize in Geotechnical, Environmental, Natural Resources, Cultural Resources and Construction Material Testing services.
SCI Engineering is seeking a motivated and detail oriented individual to assist with GIS mapping in support of project-related reporting. The ideal candidate should be comfortable with independent work and learning, completing/performing multiple tasks at once, and functioning as part of a team with the GIS Manager and project staff. The GIS Specialist will be based out of either our O’Fallon, IL or St. Charles, MO office.

Essential Functions
- Understand and have experience with basic GIS principles such as projections, geodatabases, shapefiles, coordinates and area/volume calculations
- Interpret field data, public data, survey data, site development plans and more
- Create production quality maps to communicate project findings to clients
- Assist in planning field work in safe and efficient manner for a variety of investigation types
- Comfortably use and support the operation of a variety of mobile mapping devices
- Produce shareable web products for use by clients and partner groups within SCI
- Learn new concepts with limited guidance
- Have a strong commitment to safety
- Complete other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelors in GIS or field related to SCI specializations with a GIS Professional Certificate
- 0-2 years of experience with GIS
- Good communication skills for interacting with team members and project staff
- Preferred software proficiencies include ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, ArcPad, ESRI Field Maps, AutoCad, Microstation, Google Earth, Microsoft Office, Adobe
