Through our solutions; The Metasite™ and Patient Recruitment, we accelerate enrollment by expanding the reach of clinical trials to patients beyond the traditional site and rigorously qualifying patients prior to referring them to a traditional site. Our solutions are powered by a proprietary technology stack with in-house medical and operational experts that enhance quality through standardized workflows and best-in-class study orchestration.


The VP, Growth  reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer and is responsible for the commercial organization at Science 37, which is inclusive of all Sales functions. The role requires a combination of strong consulting and solution-selling skills, understanding of the sales cycle/processes and business development skills. The VP, Growth  leads all Sales Teams including Inside Sales and Outside Growth channels.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties include but are not limited to:

  1. Develop strategic direction, organizational structure, and plans for Science 37 regarding all sales functions. 
  2. Lead inside sales and outside sales teams teams to ensure sales targets are met or exceeded. 
  3. Develop annual sales plans including; territory design, team and individual sales targets on a per territory and per market verticals basis. 
  4. Collaborates with strategic pricing and solutions teams  to develop high-quality solutions for clients
  5. Collaborate with the marketing functions to develop  annual  marketing plans and programs. 
  6. Manage the sales pipeline to ensure accurate and adequate opportunity  inflow to reach sales targets. 
  7. Develop a sales life cycle management process and instill life cycle tracking in the  CRM system. 
  8. Develop a client advisory  program that aims to understand client problems  as they begin to use and adopt the solution. 
  9. Develop annual sales forecasts and manage the team to those objectives. 
  10. Establish and monitor progress against both leading and lagging  key performance indicators. 
  11. Identify and develop new market opportunities for the company’s solution  portfolio.
  12. Develop and administer incentive plans which entice individuals as well as teams to perform successfully against sales objectives.
  13. Maintain a climate that attracts, retains, and motivates top quality personnel.
  14. Recruit, train, supervise, support, and mentor qualified personnel.
  15. Conduct performance reviews, calibration sessions, and feedback discussions with direct reports in a timely, frequent, and in a direct manner that is consistent with the company-wide keystone focus.
  16. Performs competency assessments across their team and implements and monitors development plans with direct reports.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

Qualifications 

The following qualifications are preferred and/or equivalent applicable experience:

  1. Bachelor’s degree required, relevant degree program such as business management, marketing, or life science, a plus.
  2. 15 years of experience in sales roles of increasing scope and responsibility.
  3. 5 years of experience in the life science industry, with experience in Pharmaceutical and CRO industries.
  4. Demonstrated success in defining and launching novel, disruptive technology and services in an established market
  5. Demonstrated success in defining, launching, and maintaining excellent services in the Pharmaceutical and/or CRO industries
  6. While the initial focus is in the United States, global experience is a plus
  7. Strong leadership skills and demonstrated ability to clearly develop and articulate a long-term strategic vision, as well as short-term goals and objectives to drive performance and results.
  8. Must have demonstrated experience presenting to diverse audiences including but not limited to employees, customers, key opinion leaders, investors, and Board of Directors.
  9. Experience in a fast growth environment and a decentralized environment.

  4. Superior organizational skills and accuracy - Keeping track of items, creating and developing sensible strategies and physical solutions for facilitating workflow, cleanliness, and efficiency in the office. Detail-oriented and careful about quality of work.
  5. Exemplary problem-solving and people skills - Communicate ideas effectively, to resolve conflicts and achieve business goals. Highly competent depth building mutually beneficial relations that result in value, benefit, and revenue growth.
  6. Energetic and proactive - Attempt to anticipate a situation and act in advance to either prepare for it or prevent it. Assist other team members to ensure a smooth operation. 
  7. Experience in building and guiding organizational teams. Leverages each team member’s unique background and perspective to achieve team goals while providing clear direction and accountabilities; ability to motivate. Commitment to collaboration, within and across departments.
  8. Understands interpersonal and group dynamics and reacts in an effective and tactful manner and has a range of interpersonal skills and approaches with ability to select a best-fit approach.
  9. Ability to influence cross functional teams without formal authority; ability to motivate, influence and guide team members and direct reports; gains commitments from others.

Capabilities 

  1. Up to 35% travel, as needed, for project team meetings, client presentations and other professional meetings/conferences as needed
  2. Ability to communicate in English (both verbal and written)
