Trade Compliance Officer, Req. 2192
The Trade Compliance Officer provides guidance, work products, and authorizations to ensure company trade compliance with all U.S. Government regulations to include the : International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR); Export Administration Regulations (EAR); Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC); Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF); and other USG agencies as needed.
Essential Functions :
- Provide trade compliance guidance and export authorization strategy on new business opportunities, proposals and contracts.
- Review program requirements, determine export authorizations needed, and then develop, submit, and execute exemption or licensing as needed.
- Coordinate export documentation requirements with Shipping / Receiving and Program Management.
- Evaluate and authorize the release of international shipments, technical data and defense services to foreign persons.
- Execute AES / EEI and DFE filings.
- Coordinate imports with program management, purchasing, shipping, and customs broker for import clearances, licenses / exemptions and duty.
- Train personnel in available export authorizations prior to foreign interactions.
- Monitor company activities for import or export violations and report to company management and US agencies.
- Maintain registrations or bonds with DDTC, ATF, Customs Broker, AES, etc.
- Be the primary company focal point with US Government agencies for all import and export inquiries.
- Assess and certify company compliance with Federal laws concerning import / export. He / she will maintain comprehensive import / export records as required by federal law. Provide reports to US Government agencies and Corporate as appropriate.
- Train, manage, and empower trade compliance personnel in the activities as described herewith.
