Job Description
STC is seeking exceptional aerospace engineers to join our team supporting NASA's human spaceflight, planetary exploration, and other critical missions. We are augmenting our staff and are looking for several motivated individuals with expertise in flight dynamics, modeling and simulation, and guidance, navigation, and controls. Engineers and scientists with experience in flight dynamics, including the modeling and analysis of aerospace vehicles, are needed. Examples of tasks to be assigned include performance evaluations, trajectory optimization, stability and robustness analysis, guidance and control system development, navigation filter design, simulation development and Monte Carlo analyses.
Qualifications
- Experience and familiarity with flight mechanics, control systems, and dynamics simulation (critical).
- Background in multi-body dynamics and / or subsystem modeling (important).
- Experience with Matlab / Simulink, FORTRAN, C / C programming, and NASA's Program to Optimize Simulated Trajectories II (POST2) (preferred).
- Strong background in one or more of the following areas (required) :
- Entry descent and landing design and analysis,
- Launch vehicle analysis,
- Flight testing including post-flight data analysis,
- Simulation development,
- Trajectory optimization,
- Orbital dynamics,
- Parameter identification.
- Strong written and oral communication skills (required).
