THE POSITION IN A NUTSHELL
Sciens Building Solutions seeks a Field Superintendent who will manage an installation team to deliver projects on schedule and on budget. Working mostly in the field, the Field Superintendent will ensure projects are installed in accordance with all applicable codes and regulations plus abide by the quality standards of Sciens. Safety is a top priority at Sciens, and this position will be responsible to ensure all safety standards and work practices are met. The Field Superintendent will be responsible for managing and developing their employees, including training paths that allow them to learn new skills. This position reports directly to the Solutions Operations Manager.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING (and doing well!)
• Ensure projects are installed in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
• Deliver projects on schedule and on budget.
• Work directly with customers to achieve a high level of satisfaction.
• Communicate any potential change orders to Sciens Project Manager for assessment and processing.
• Ensure compliance of all assigned employees to Sciens safety standards.
• Provide supervision, mentoring and development of team members, participating in their review process as requested.
• Review technician daily reports for accuracy and correct accordingly.
• Ensure all timecards, notes and reports are completed by the end of each workday, correcting, as necessary.
• Work with schedulers and Project Managers to maintain project schedules when assigned technicians aren’t available.
• Act as the primary point of contact for all field-related issues.
• Participate in quarterly department meetings and assist in preparing an agenda for each quarterly meeting.
• Prepare an incident report for all injuries including the completion of a “CAR” report.
• Assist in the development of training programs for the Solutions team.
• Review and participate as necessary in all system pretests to ensure readiness for final inspections.
• Review and participate as necessary in all final inspections to facilitate system acceptance.
• Routinely visit project sites to inspect work progress, quality, and safety. Prepare a project assessment report detailing corrective actions where necessary.
• Provide a quarterly project summary describing the quality of the work performed, issues identified and any corrective action plans. Make any recommendations regarding training or changes to procedures, as necessary.
• Make recommendations on efficiency improvements associated with project installations.
WHAT WE LIKE ABOUT YOU
• Two to five years of experience in a superintendent supervisory role within the commercial fire detection/fire suppression industry.
• Strong knowledge of fire protection codes and operations.
• Knowledge of OSHA safety standards.
• Proficient in current NFPA 72 inspection, testing and troubleshooting codes.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, decision-making, and communication skills.
• Strong computer skills, proficient at Microsoft Office.
• Valid driver’s license.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
• Fire Life Safety Certification/Electrical Certification – State of California.

$130,000 annual salary
