Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Systems Technician to join our team at West Fire Systems Inc, a division of Sciens Building Solutions. This role requires strong programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting skills, as well as experience working with fire alarm systems.
The successful candidate will work closely with our sales team, field project teams, and clients to ensure the design, installation, and commissioning of our fire alarm solutions meet the highest standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Reviewing system layouts and coordinating with engineering, project management, and sales departments for successful project execution
- Producing field surveys and daily project logs of activity
- Programming, commissioning, and final acceptance by customers and Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs) of complex fire alarm systems
- Creating detailed commissioning and inspection reports in accordance with NFPA
- Complex troubleshooting and effective resolution
- Delivering projects on schedule and within budget
- Providing support, guidance, and expertise to other technicians
- Customer-focused project and people management
- Job scheduling and progress management in an efficient and cost-effective manner
Requirements:
- Two to five years of experience in a technician role within the fire detection and protection environment
- Knowledge of current fire alarm systems
- Ability to program and commission mid-range fire alarm systems using a laptop computer
- NFPA 72 code requirements knowledge
- Florida fire procedures, filing, and requirements knowledge
- NICET level I certification
