What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNC Machinist Mill Setup/Operator position at Scientific Fabrication Service Inc.?
We are searching for a CNC Machinist Mill Setup/Operator for fabrication of small to medium precision parts. Our facilities are air conditioned and use modern fully tooled equipment.
Job responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain CNC lathe and milling machines.
- Review drawings, instructions, prints or samples to ensure accurate production.
- Plan proper sequence of tasks to complete the assignment.
- Select appropriate machine and settings for a given task.
- Setup machine for first part.
- Take accurate measurements during the cutting and shaping process.
- Sand parts in to achieve very tight tolerances and surface finish.
- Monitor production, adjusting feed and other settings as necessary.
- Maintain inventory of completed products.
- Check output for quality assurance and document or discard defects.
- Identify need for and perform machine maintenance and minor repairs.
- Must maintain a safe and clean workstation.
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
To be Considered, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Must be able to read and understand G-code
- Minimum 5 years experience with CNC Mills
- Preferred experience with CNC Mill: 4 axis- Hurco VMX42i
- Preferred experience with programming using GibbsCam
