JOB SUMMARY
Join our team at Scientific Protein Laboratories (SPL), a world leader in biosourced pharmaceuticals, located just outside of Madison, Wisconsin in Waunakee! SPL is an innovative biopharmaceutical leader with unique products and services supporting the pharmaceutical industry globally. For over 40 years, SPL specializes in the development and cGMP compliant manufacturing of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs). SPL has an exciting opportunity to join the team as a Sr Development Scientist.
This position is responsible to independently perform product, process and assay development for internal projects or client projects. Perform lab and pilot scale production and/or method validation. Provide support to Production, Quality Control, and Marketing Departments concerning technical matters.
Responsibilities include:
- Develop processes for product synthesis, isolation and purification and/or develop assays for existing as well as new products.
- Perform lab and pilot scale production of GMP and non-GMP products and/or method validation.
- Design, execute and interpret experiments/investigations in support of new and existing products.
- Provide technical support to Quality Control, Production and Marketing and write clear and concise reports for projects performed for these departments.
- Comply with cGMP's, write SOPs, validation protocols and other documentation as required by regulations.
- Order lab supplies and equipment and perform general lab maintenance which is required of all R&D employees.
Job Requirements and Qualifications:
Education: Advanced degree or above (e.g. PhD in Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology, and related sciences)
Experience: 2 plus years required; 5 plus years preferred
