Our startup biotech client with incredible technology and deep pockets has tasked Scientific Search in finding them a Director of Business Development. This position will lead Business Development for the organization and be responsible for outlicensing of potential assets.
Responsibilities
- Deal types may range the spectrum of commercial partnering, from exclusive licensing to co-commercialization, co-development to product acquisitions with a primary focus towards portfolio build and as second priority pipeline partnering and out-bound transactions of non-core assets.
- Participate in and coordinate the search, evaluation, and due diligence to identify pre-clinical, clinical, and commercial stage opportunities in Biotechnology.
- Skillfully design partnering structures tailored to each individual project
- Provide outstanding transaction skills through the entire deal making process
- Monitor the external business environment and maintain a knowledge base of licensing transactions and other company activities
- Strengthen industry networking to secure the identification of attractive partnering opportunities.
- Align with key stakeholders to evaluate, move forward and complete partnering opportunities. Manage and further improve existing business partnerships including resolving issues, amending terms of existing agreements and further expanding partnerships.
- Partnering with CEO to support on fund raising and government affairs.
- Master degree with 5 years business development experience in biotech/pharmaceutical environment. License out experience is a plus
- Proven track record in US & China at sourcing, structuring, negotiating and closing different types of partnerships
- Excellent multitasking capability, strong project management skills, and outstanding presentation skills plus excellent English skill is a must.
- With extra experiences in Corporate Development, Strategy, Competitive Intelligence, and/or Investor Relations, will be preferred.
