Foundation Treasurer

Scion Nonprofit Staffing, an award-winning full-service staffing firm, has been engaged to conduct an immediate search for a part-time Treasurer, on behalf of our client, a prestigious philanthropic foundation. Are you an experienced financial professional seeking a meaningful role in philanthropy? This part-time hybrid role offers a great amount of flexibility and the opportunity to work on a small team with minimal turnover. This direct hire role starts immediately.

POSITION SUMMARY:

This role will oversee financial operations and reporting in a stable, mission-driven environment. This direct-hire opportunity offers a flexible schedule (~30 hours per week), with one in-office day in Manhattan, allowing you to contribute strategically while maintaining work-life balance. As a key financial leader, you will support education-focused philanthropy, ensuring compliance and providing financial insights to leadership. Join a small, dedicated team with minimal turnover, where your expertise will shape long-term financial operations and make a lasting impact.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Oversee in-house financial operations and compliance.
• Prepare Treasurer's reports for biannual board meetings.
• Maintain proper separation of duties, including check handling.
• Present financials to leadership and corporate board.
• Collaborate with parent corporation and stakeholders.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• CPA preferred plus corporate/nonprofit financial management experience.
• Foundation finance and compliance expertise.
• Comfortable in formal board environments.
• Ability to explain financials clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
• Well-suited for candidates seeking part-time hours.
• Ability to go to board meetings outside of office hours up to once a month.
• Proficiency using QuickBooks and Microsoft Office required.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

In addition to a salary of $75,000- $120,000, this opportunity offers a comprehensive benefits package and a ~30-hour work week. This role can also be structured as a full-time 40 hour work week with a higher salary ~$120,000. This direct hire role starts immediately.
