Scion Staffing, has been engaged to conduct an immediate search for an experienced Director of Professional Development on behalf of our client, a respected financial services association in New York, NY. Our client provides educational programs and member, political action, and public relations services to enhance New York's financial industry. Their focus is on major policy initiatives within the industry, networking opportunities, and professional development. This position is for immediate hire and works on a hybrid schedule from 10 AM to 5 PM at the office on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays and from 9 AM to 5 PM remotely on Wednesdays and Fridays.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee a dynamic and comprehensive professional development calendar that includes peer-to-peer committee meetings, in-person and virtual learning opportunities, and innovative educational offerings.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts, volunteer member committees, third-party providers, and internal staff to deliver high-quality programs tailored to meet members at various professional journeys.
- Lead the planning and execution of signature events, conferences, webinars, and committee meetings.
- Develop, manage, and refine a comprehensive curriculum that addresses members' evolving needs, ensuring content remains relevant and impactful.
- Oversee the design, implementation, and evaluation of in-person, virtual, and hybrid educational programs, continuously refining these offerings to enhance engagement and effectiveness.
- Partner with third-party education providers to expand and elevate the portfolio of programs while ensuring revenue growth.
- Design and monitor metrics to evaluate the success of educational initiatives, ensuring continuous improvement and alignment with member needs.
- Lead both high-level strategic planning and hands-on execution, ensuring the delivery of impactful and engaging learning experiences that align with the organization's mission and goals.
- Travel as needed to attend at least three conferences annually.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree in Instructional Design, Training & Development, Adult Learning, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 8 years of experience in professional development programming, ideally within an association or nonprofit setting. Knowledge of adult learning principles and best practices is essential.
- Proven experience in developing and curating conference content, continuing education, identifying key speakers, topics, and sessions that resonate with industry trends and the needs of participants.
- Strong knowledge of adult learning principles and best practices for professional development programs and corporate training.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, with a positive attitude and the ability to build strong relationships with members.
- Familiarity with the banking or financial services sector is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects while collaborating with diverse stakeholders.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
