Scion Nonprofit Staffing , an award-winning full-service staffing firm, has been engaged to lead the search for a Manager of Finance & Operations on behalf of our client-a mission-driven organization dedicated to partnering with communities to create an equitable clean energy future. This full-time, hybrid position is available immediately and welcomes applications from qualified candidates located in the greater Seattle, WA area.
POSITION SUMMARY :
The Manager of Finance & Operations, reporting directly to the Executive Director, is a pivotal member of the leadership team, responsible for managing the organization's financial, accounting, human resources, and administrative systems. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with staff across all departments, providing critical financial insights and guiding operational strategies to support business growth and sustainability. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in financial analysis and a proactive approach to driving organizational success while sharing the organization's deep commitment to addressing urgent energy, environmental, and social justice challenges.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Manage all accounting operations in compliance with GAAP, including payroll, accounts payable / receivable, cash flow, and bank reconciliations, with the support of an accounting specialist, while preparing accurate monthly financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with tax, labor, and business-related policies, coordinating annual audits and managing tax returns and 990 filings with external CPA support.
- Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard financial assets and oversee adherence to the investment management policy.
- Lead annual and mid-year budget planning, support programmatic and grant budgets, and analyze fee-for-service billing rates for updates as needed.
- Oversee risk management and legal activities, including contracts, leases, business registrations, and insurance records.
- Manage employee benefits negotiations, personnel files, and HR documentation, while updating the Employee Personnel Policy manual as needed.
- Oversee employee hiring, onboarding, training, performance reviews, and retention, working with the Executive Director on compensation analysis.
- Coordinate office operations, technology maintenance, and assessments, ensuring effective systems for staff to monitor and manage budgets.
- Provide support to the Finance Committee and Board Treasurer, organize board meeting logistics and packets, and coordinate orientation for new Board members.
- Organize and support annual work plans, capacity-building initiatives, and staff planning retreats, fostering collaboration and efficiency

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS :
In addition to a competitive salary range of $90,000 to $95,000, benefits include : health and dental insurance, four weeks of paid flexible time off, an additional 12 paid holidays, paid sick leave, a retirement plan, a professional development allowance, and a public transit subsidy.
